John T. Lau, President of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc.
An entrepreneurial veteran, John T. Lau is co-founder of Appliedinfo Partners and President of the company since its inception in 1990 with his wife, Betty, as the CEO. His innovative and technical leadership resulted in the development of Appliedinfo Partners’ DivTRAK®, a leading supplier diversity management software, and DIF®, a collaborative, online courseware development framework used by the US Army, among others.
John has been active in the supplier diversity field for more than 30 years. His DivTRAK® software solution pioneered the ability for major corporations to track their spending with diverse suppliers. The company’s latest product, DIF®, is being recognized for its ability to rapidly and collaboratively create, distribute, and update interactive, media-rich courseware. John’s vision of the DIF® solution is to drastically reduce how the Army does business in bureaucratic “SILOS” and use innovation and technology to collaborate amongst departments to produce mission critical training faster, better and cheaper to improve mission success and save lives.
John has been ranked among the “Top 50 Pros to Know” by iSource Magazine, was cited as “Asian Entrepreneur of the Year” by Asian Enterprise Magazine, and recognized with the “Albert Einstein Award for Innovation” as part of the NJ Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards in 2013. He has been featured in The Star-Ledger, MBE Magazine, Fortune Magazine, and on CNBC. In the past, he was vice president at Shearson/American Express and a systems manager at Citibank. John received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Stony Brook University and has attended numerous executive courses at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business.
